A visit to the theatre inspires an amateur historian to embark on a quest to unearth the remains of King Richard III.
Directed by Stephen Frears and written by Steve Coogan and Jeff Pope, The Lost King is a dramatisation of the story of Phillipa Langley, who defied the academic establishment to search for the body of the maligned king.
Sally Hawkins, as Langley, breathes tremulously vulnerable life into a character who overcomes apparently insurmountable obstacles to prove to the world that she deserves to be taken seriously.
This a life affirming tale of what can happen when you refuse to be ignored.
