Based on Paul (Manxmouse) Gallico’s novel, the film follows the fortunes of Ada Harris, a widowed cleaning lady who becomes obsessed with a Dior dress. After she works, starves and gambles to raise the funds to buy her own dress, she embarks on an adventure to Paris that will change not only her own outlook but the very future of the House of Dior.
