EAC Book Circle reading Dissolution by CJ Sansom. This group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 2pm in Harry’s Bar. There’s no membership fees but we do ask for a minimum donation of £2 from each attendee at meetings.

One World IOM presents An Evening With James Levelle: Racing For The Future. Join us for an engaging talk from James Levelle – explorer, environmentalist and filmmaker – as he recounts his exploits travelling from the UK to a climate change conference in Chile without using fossil fuel, collecting messages along the way from young voices to present to conference attendees. Live Roots Music IOM present The Jesse Janes, with support from

. Americana quartet The Jesse Janes are bringing their previously sold out live show celebrating the soundtrack from the 2000 movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? and other iconic bluegrass and blues classics to the Isle of Man for the first time. This event is sold out.

The Weekend View – meet the photographer behind our current exhibition Portraits of Man, Milen Stankov. You can see his colourful digital portraits on the walls, as well as his vintage cameras a large format negative contact-prints. No booking required, free entry to the gallery.

Hysteria – an evil choir established just last month – is rehearsing on Sundays 1pm-3pm each week. They’re currently welcoming new singers while they prepare for live shows to celebrate Mary Shelley’s birthday in August and Hop Tu Naa in October later this year. Rushen Heritage Trust presents Folklore of Port St Mary with James Franklin. Take a tour through some of the strange and mysterious happenings recorded in Port St Mary. Expect fairy vomit, furious ghosts, shape-shifting witches, phantom funerals, competing giants, wandering bugganes, and a terrifying hare.

Rushen Players present an evening of three One Act Plays. Such A Blessing by Liz Dobson, Late Entry by David Tristram and A Bench At The Edge by Luigi Jannuzzi. Book online.

Midweek Movie: Maria (12). The final film in Chilean director Pablo Larraín’s triptych of portraits of influential, melancholy women, Maria stars a magnetic Angelina Jolie as temperamental soprano Maria Callas, seeing out her final days in Paris. Book online for screenings at 2pm and 7.30pm.
