February 25 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
RP’s present two ghost stories as readings. The stories have a common theme – that of greed. The first, The Stalls of Barchester written M R James, is a gothic spine-chilling tale, set in the 1800’s. It tells of one Dr Haynes, an Archdeacon who acquires his status through unscrupulous means, and the dire consequences that await him. The second, The Monkey’s Paw is a well know Victorian classic by W W Jacobs. In the story, three wishes are granted to the owner of The Monkey’s Paw, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate. The more quietly the subject matter is relayed to us, the more terrifying it is, and the closer we lean in to listen. Come along and be prepared for a night of thrills and chills – Wine and light refreshments served in the interval.
