Goodbye to the Challen Grand Piano

Our beautiful Challen Grand Piano has left the building for a new life in the west!

Loaned and subsequently gifted to us by Isle of Man Arts Council, the Challen has been here since the very beginning and was played by Clive Lythgoe at the Grand Gala Opening Night of the Erin Arts Centre on October 30th 1971. Since the Steinway arrived in 1991, the Challen has sadly not seen much action so we are delighted to be able to offer it a new lease of life at Cathedral Isle of Man in Peel.

Thanks to Edward Bryan Removals for taking care of the Challen during the move, and many thanks to IOM Arts Council for agreeing that this wonderful instrument deserves to be played and enjoyed by the Manx public for years to come. Good luck and thanks for all the memories!
