To close this year’s festival, we are delighted to welcome back the hard swinging bebop quartet who set last year’s Mananan alight….The Harvey O’Higgins Project. Support comes from local heroes, Blue Vannin.
Graham Harvey (Piano), Dave O’Higgins (Saxophone), Jeremy Brown (Bass) and Matt Skelton (Drums) have played together for years, following that thread in jazz that has continued from its origins in the small groups of the swing era through bebop and up to the present day. They embody the aesthetic of harmonic integrity coupled with rhythmic coherence, switching between standards and original compositions with black belt dexterity.
The Harvey O’Higgins Project are a fantastic live act, mainlining all the eternal values of great tone, melodic sweetness, rhythmic assurance and swing to blow your socks off. Do not miss!
Milner’s Tower (aka Blue Vannin) have been on the Manx music scene now since 2017. They played the inaugural EAC Jazz Club gig in 2021 and are as close as we’ve got to a house band! The line up of musicians has changed over the years but the ensemble remains committed to encouraging jazz on the Island, performing regularly for charity and community events. One of the benefits of changing personnel is that the set list is constantly evolving, so expect new tunes and arrangements plus their signature blend of jazz, funk and crossover.
This event is general admission with table seating.
