Festival week has flown by so far!
We’ve already heard from poet laureate Simon Armitage, musical manx female celebration Creeaght, excitable chamber ensemble A4 Brass and leading pianist Tim Horton, and we’ve still got RANT fiddle quartet, jazz-funk-blues locals Blue Vannin, visiting jazz cats The Harvey/O’Higgins Project and a wartime-romance book launch with Shirley Mann to come!
You can listen to Anna Massie from RANT on her radio show Travelling Folk at the link below, which broadcast live from Manx Radio HQ last night (Thursday 29th June). She plays some gorgeous Manx tracks and chats to Ruth Keggin (who last performed at the EAC with Rachel Hair after they recorded their gorgeous album Lossan in our theatre) & Isla Callister (who performed in the festival with Creeaght this week).
You can still get tickets for RANT’s show at the EAC tonight (Friday 30th June) and listen out for some key Manx phrases Anna learnt from Ruth on the radio!
Mananan Festival is always such a busy week and we put in so many wonderful hours to make it happen, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come along to the shows so far. The festival has been going since 1971 and it’s such an honour to be able to keep the tradition going.
