If you’re interested in the Young Singer of Mann 2023 competition, the application form is here!
This is an amazing opportunity for singers aged 7-18 years to perform on the Erin Arts Centre stage in front of a public audience and a selected panel of judges.
Singers will compete in either the Junior (7-12 years) or Senior (13-18 years) categories and will perform any two songs of their choosing. Any genre is welcome, all we ask is that at least one of the songs is accompanied by our fantastic pianist Madeline Kelly. We don’t charge an entry fee for the competition, but competitors can get in touch with Madeline before the competition to arrange & pay for a private rehearsal session (text Madeline on 07624 465168). You must also provide two purchased copies of the sheet music, one for Madeline and one for our adjudicators on the day.
We’ll be offering a whole handful of prizes in 2023 – £150 to the winners of both the Junior & Senior categories, plus £100 for second, £50 for third in both categories plus additional prizes to be given out on the day. Our winners will also walk away with trophies kindly provided by the IOM Arts Council: one to keep for a year and one to hold onto forever! Not to mention, the winner will also be invited back to perform at the next Young Singer competition.
Angela Stewart of Manx Voices will chair a fresh and varied panel of adjudicators, comprising the IOM Arts Council’s Jane Corkill and local stars of stage and radio, Jack Divers and Christy DeHaven.
Young Singer of Mann is sponsored by IOM Arts Council and the Malcolm Dickinson Trust. Full terms and conditions are here.
Please apply by filling in the form below. Best of luck!
